Abstract
This study amis to estimate the efficiency of resources which are
used in tomatoes crop. and estimate the marketing margins of this crop. The
main data of this study collected by sample from producers of this crop ,in
Ismailia Govenorate through 2003- 2004 year.
The results of this study illustrated that:
Productivity. costs. and net revenue per Fadden of tomatoes crop increased
in Ismailia Govemorate compared with Egypt.
Organic fertilizer is used with high efficiency for producers in the large scaie
and in kassasen region.
 Labor is used with high efficiency in the small scale and in kantara east
region.
Azot fertilizer is used with high efficiency in both small and large scale, and
in kassasen region.
 Phosphorus fertilizer is used with unefficiency in small scale, and it used
with high efficiency in fayed region.
 Productivity of tomatoes crop is increased in large scale compared with
small scaie and it increased in kassasen and Fayed regions compared with
kantara east region.
 The producer margins from consumer price of marketing tomatoes is
increased from 44% to 55%, while the Retailer margins is decreased from
20% to only 2%. and the wholesaler margins is increased from 36% to 47%
through the period.
 The main problems is faced to producers of tomatoes crop in Ismailia
Goyernorate are loss of labor, high prices of seeds and fertilizers and loss
of irrigation water.
