Abstract
Fish is considered as one of the main resources of animal protein, metal
factors and important vitamins for human. In Egypt, there are many natural
resources for fish production, t.e., Red sea, Mediterranean sea, Nile river,
Naser Lake and Qaron lake. However, the total production is not e' ough for
consumption needs, where the ratio was 74.7% in 2001,
Fishing activity in Sohag Governorate is considered one of the old
activities, although, the limited area for fishing (Nile river). In Sohag the ratio
of fish production is 0.68% as comparison with the Egyptian total prdduction.
Therefore, the aim of this research is studying the eoonomical
feasibility of fish farms in Sohag Governorate. The financial evaluation and
sensitivity analysis of enterprises for fish project in Sohag al discount prices
of 20% and 25% were studied, It is observed that the net return at 20%
discount was 857.5 for one box and 6860 AL.E for each farm. Whereas, it
was -331.3for each box and -2650.4 for each farm at discount price of 25%.
While, the inlernal rate of return (IRR) was 23,61 % .
In case of expected increasing of variable costs by 10%, the n~t relurn at
8% discount will be 895.2 for one box and 7161.6 for each farm. ~ereas, it
will be -786.1 for each box and -€288.8 for each farm at discount price of
12% . While, the (IRR) was 10.13 % , In case of expected decreasing of
variable costs by 10%, the net return at 5%'discount will be 153.8 l.E for one
box and 1230.4 L.E for each farm. Whereas, it will be -1886.9 U:i for each
box and -15095.2 l.E. for each farm at discount price of 10% , WHile, (IRR)
was 5.37 %.
The results showed that the main problems which face the fish
Producers in Sohag are: decrease of financ.a: possibility and higtl level of die
fish . While the main markting problems were: decrease of fish price and
badger dominated on the fish mark.
The main recommendations:
1· Must be Continuos control on the Zarreaa ( small fish) .
2· Must be product of Ideal nutrients materials for fish production.
3· Dominatin9 and limiting the Illegal fishing.
4- Limiting badger dominated on the fish markting .
