Abstract
The study aimed to know the opinions of rural women in the field of
agriculture extrnsion and its activies , and determine the degree of their benefits from
this service and what don't make then beefit from it, and also deter -mine two
approaches towards agriculture extension service in ahand and, its aims, and its
activities , and towards agriculture practice related to extension activities for rural
woman in another hand and at last the relation of some personal characteristic
towards extension work.
Date were collected from samples consist of 120 is investigated women who
were selected in random among farmers wife who registered in agricultural
cooperative societies lists. By questionnair sheets though personnel meeting
Data were collected during July - August 2003 . And were Statistically analyzed
according to numer-ical values, percentage ,means, variance, standard deviation,
variation coefficient and k2 test.
The majority of rural women show that they hear about agriculture extension
and about 66.76% of them show its importance for rural women.
less than half of women 43.33% hear about the meeting and extension
symposiums and 32.5% of them attend these meeting and extension symposiums and
48.33% of them don't know its time and 94.17% of them prefer them in the evening.
About 43.33 of them go to agricultural extensionist to solve problems faced them and
60% of them say that his visit is useful and not useless.
More than half of woman 62.5% prefers women to men as extensionist.
The less of awareness of rural women about home economies due to the
lack of extension on it .
The magority of rural women show that they don't benefit form agriculture
extension service in the field of agricultural production. about 17.5% asure that.
It is shown that less than 20.82% of them has astrong altitude towards
agriculture extension.
There is arelation between practice agriculture extension and ~he size of own
land, eduction economic level and number of the family, but not age.
