Abstract
The current study was carried out at Oena Governorate in season
2000/2001 to Comparative Sugarcane Production inside and outside
developed surface irrigation Project. The total area planted to Sugarcane
covered by developed surface irrigation Project was about 1078.17 feddans
during the period 1996 ( spring season) to 2001 autumn season. The results
were showed that these project had a positive effect on average yield of the
Crop , where these yield was increased Inside the Project by 4 % , 4.5 %
comparison with outside the Project also increased Net Revenue, Ralio of
total Revenue to total Cost and Profitable Inside the Project comparison
with outside the project . Cost unit of Product inSide Project was decreased
inside (he project comparison with outside the project
Sugar factories were received about 9.35 million Ton of Sugarcane (
Juice 2002) with total value of about LE 886.25 million (paid by the
government ).
this quantity produced about 976.5 thousand Ton of Sugar with total value or
about lE 104.84 million ( paid to the government) . The Government earned
LE 443.52 million from the by. Products of Sugar extract.. The value added
to government was about Ll= 77.71 million.
It was also found out that each reddan eligible to developed surface
irrigation contributed with about what the government incurs to produce three
tons in the areas outside the project.
