STUDY SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF RURAL GIRLS AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH THEIR THOUGHT SKILLS IN SOME VILLAGES IN ALEXANDRIA AND EL-BEHIRA GOVERNORATES

Abstract

This research aimed to study some characteristics of rural girls
and their relationship with their thought skills . The study was carried out
through achieving the sub —- goals :
1 - Assess some personal and socio . economic characteristics of the
respondents.
2 —Assess thought skills of the respondents.
3—Study the relationship between thought skills and some personal and
socio — economic characteristics of the respondents .
Data were collected by questionnaire, notice through personal
interviews with a random sample consisted of 200 rural girls from some
villages in Alexandria and EI-Behira Govemorates . Alpha Chronbach
factor, Parson correlation , Spearman correlation, multipie regression
models , frequencies and percentages were used in analyzing and
presenting the data .
Data indicated the following :
Low level of thought skills were observed among respondents.
There was A positive significant relationship between solving prbblems
practice, innovativeness, decision making independently, conviction
degree, risk degree, fatalism degree, determining goals independently,
free opinion ,father education and thought skills . According to step -_
wise multiple regression analysis , solving problems practice
innovativeness, determining goals independently and decision making
independently together explained about 60% of variances _in the thought
skills .
