Abstract
The field demonstrations as an effective agricultural extension
method, and the importance of farmer's field demonstrations leader role has
increased The extension system has had to adjust this role and activate it in
different educational situations to meet the different target groups' needs.
The field demonstrations provide an opportunity for learning-by-
doing, and based on principles of non-formal education., farmer's field
demonstrations leader facilitates the learning process, encouraging and
aiding the other farmers to adopt new ideas and practices properly adapted
to their needs through self-discovery activities practiced in the demonstration
field.
The field demonstrations is presently operational in all governorates
in delta and upper Egypt, attempt was mad in deferent researches to identify
the educational effects of field demonstrations, these previous researches
did not extend its scoop to identify farmer's field demonstrations leader role.
The extent of implementing field demonstrations increased the need
to conduct this research to identify the leader role of farmer's field
demonstrations in Sohag Governorate.
The research was conducted in Sohag governorate, random sample
of 80 cultivators of field demonstrations drawn by a systematic random
sample procedure from 132 in the list of cultivators field demonstrations.
Data was collected, in May 12004, through a developed
questionnaire, through in an interviewing each respondent from cultivator's
field demonstrations.
